The Rx audio and Tx audio are live when the radio is in PC mode. 
You can build an adapter to plug into the radio and then plug the
PG-4y cable into it along with a speaker and electret Mic.

The pinouts are in teh manual.  Also in the FILES area is a doc with
the pinouts. Look for my call - Protocol doc.
