It works well on both 2 and 70. Last Sunday I was on the Meath/Cavan border, here in Ireland, at the highest point in Meath which is only about 900 feet ASL and was able to get into the Dublin repeater some 60 miles (100km) away using the highest power setting, 5W. It's performance on airband is far superior to a dedicated AOR scanner I bought a few years ago and HF performance with a simple piece of wire attached is more than adequate.
