point very well taken, it is hard to let go of the information flow.  i know that the people around me during these races are very good at what they do also and i can trust them with the info.  it's just hard to let go...

so... back to my question about the GMRS bands that the Cobra has, do i need to go through the test to be a licensed amateur?

Hi Sean,

"...this is my program and my reputation and we are
dealing with professional cyclists."

Which describes your role as "a Boss" - a Focus - to
adaptively co-ordinate - delegate - be readily
available. Can you effectively manage "the bigger
picture" as a split-tasking roving mechanic reliant
upon multi-channel information? Better (as you
hinted) to delegate a guy with radios to information
gathering and reporting to you on one simple channel.

Professionals have expectations, seek clarity and can
harshly judge (or bypass) control freaks when found
lacking.
My suggestion becomes that you need to draw on past
experience, plan for better, involve a team and use
what you (all) understand.

Really! :-)

Fred.
