L'odyssée du Cap Anamur n'est pas terminée. Après 22 jours en mer, un 
"refoulement collectif" aux limites des eaux internationales, les 
refus répétés des 3 gouvernements concernés (Italie, Allemagne, 
Malte) et finalement l'autorisation d'aborder à Porto Empedocle, les 
37 réfugiés ont été incarcérés dans le Centre de détention 
d'Agrigente, dont les médias n'ont pas montré les hauts murs ceints 
de barbelés, pour mieux propager la version gouvernementale de 
l'"accueil".

Deux membres de l'équipage du Cap Anamur ainsi que le président de 
l'ONG ont été arrêtés pour "aide à l'immigration illégale" (un 
nouveau sens pour le mot "sauvetage"). Le bateau est sous séquestre.

Tout ceci est honteux et montre une fois de plus comment l'Europe en 
construction est, dans la réalité et dans le droit, en guerre contre 
les migrants.

Face à cette situation, le large front de solidarité qui s'est formé 
en Italie et en Europe doit exiger
- que l'Italie, pays d'entrée de ces réfugiés dans l'espace Schengen, 
reconnaisse le droit d'asile constitutionnel, et qu'elle n'incarcère 
pas ces réfugiés rescapés d'un naufrage dans des "centres 
d'identification", avec le risque d'une expulsion
- la libération immédiate des membres de l'équipage

Nous appelons à une large participation à la manifestation du
jeudi 15 juillet 2004 à 16h à Agrigente, Sicile (Piazza Cavour, Viale 
della Vittoria).

Nous appelons aussi les groupes et les individus qui se sont 
mobilisés ces dernières années pour les droits des migrants en Italie 
et en Europe à nous rejoindre et à organiser des manifestations de 
soutien : devant les préfectures, les centre d'enfermement des 
étrangers, les ambassades et partout où cela est nécessaire.

The odyssee of the ship Cap Anamur is not over. After 22 days on the 
sea, a "collective rejection" carried out at the limits of 
international waters, the endless nos of the three governments 
involved (Italy, Germany, Malta) and finally the authorization to 
dock at Porto Empedocle, the 37 refugees have been deported to the 
Detention Centre of Agrigento: high walls and barbed wire, not shown 
by the media, who had to pass on the government's version of 
"reception". Two members of the crew and the head of Cap Anamur NGO 
arrested for aiding illegal immigration, new meaning for the word 
"rescue". The ship has been confiscated.
We think that all this is simply shameful and shows once more how the 
Europe that is being created is in reality and judicially at war 
against the migrants.
In view of this situation, the vast front of solidarity that has 
formed in Italy and in Europe should demand with determination that 
Italy, country of arrival into the Schengen-area for these refugees, 
recognizes the right for constitutional asylum and does not detain 
the refugees, who have barely escaped a shipwreck, in "centres of 
identification", with the risk of being expelled ; as well as the 
immediate liberation of the members of the crew of the ship.

Thursday, 15 July, 16pm, we ask to participate at the demonstration 
in Agrigento, Sicily, (Piazza Cavour, Viale della Vittoria). We 
invite also all the groups and individuals which have been fighting 
these past years for the rights of migrants in Italy and Europe to 
sustain the demonstration in Sicily and to carry out demonstrations 
of support: in front of the prefectures, the deportation centres, 
embassies and wherever it is deemed necessary.

L'odissea della Cap Anamur non è finita. Dopo 22 giorni di mare, un
"respingimento collettivo" praticato al limite delle acque 
internazionali, gli infiniti no dei governi dei tre stati coinvolti 
dalla vicenda ed infine l'autorizzazione all'attracco, i 37 naufraghi 
sono stati deportati nel Centro di detenzione di Agrigento: altissime 
mura e filo spinato che gli organi di stampa non hanno fatto vedere 
perché dovevano far passare la parola d'ordine governativa 
dell'accoglienza. Due membri dell'equipaggio e l'armatore della Cap 
Anamur arrestati per favoreggiamento dell'immigrazione clandestina, 
nuova denominazione della parola "salvataggio". La nave sotto 
sequestro.

Riteniamo che tutto questo sia semplicemente indegno e che dimostri 
ancora una volta come l'Europa che si sta costruendo sia 
materialmente e giuridicamente in guerra contro i migranti.

Di fronte a questa situazione il vasto fronte di solidarietà che si è 
costituito in Italia e in Europa deve chiedere con determinazione che 
l'Italia, paese di ingresso effettivo dei profughi nell'area 
Schengen, riconosca il diritto di asilo costituzionale e che a quanti 
sono scampati ad un naufragio venga evitata l'incarcerazione nei 
"centri di identificazione", con il rischio di una successiva 
espulsione.

Giovedì 15 luglio, alle ore 16, chiediamo a tutte le realtà siciliane 
di partecipare alla manifestazione indetta ad Agrigento (p.zza 
Cavour, Viale della Vittoria).

Invitiamo, inoltre, tutte le realtà che in questi ultimi anni in 
Italia si sono impegnate sul terreno delle lotte a fianco dei 
migranti a dar vita a manifestazioni di appoggio a quella che si 
terrà in Sicilia: davanti alle prefetture, davanti ai cpt, alle 
ambasciate e ovunque lo si ritenga opportuno.
