Subject: Finks goes International, you can help translating! (and if you are quick enough you can lead a language team) Newsgroups: gmane.os.apple.fink.beginners, gmane.os.apple.fink.devel, gmane.os.apple.fink.general Date: 2004-02-19 08:01:48 GMT (4 years, 33 weeks, 3 days, 22 hours and 31 minutes ago) Hello Community. Thanks to some very important bits of work finished by Baba Yoshihiko we now have a system in place that allows us to offer translated versions of the web-site. Baba Yoshihiko was friendly enough to start work on a Japanese version and some parts are translated already. If you feel you have the time and stamina to become part of the i18n team, you are welcome to join the new mailing list fink-i18n. This mailing list is basically meant to coordinate the efforts of all people involved in translating the documentation or the web-site into different languages. Of course some other aspects will be discussed on that list as well, for example the Layout, Usability or Accessibility of the Fink web-site. Please be warned, that being a translator can be a time consuming job. To keep all the possible languages consistent there should be an effort to synchronize the translated version with the original version as often as possible. However, nothing has been decided yet and everyone that feels they want to either a) Help translating b) Help improve the web-site c) Provide Feedback about the web-site d) Something that fits but I have not mentioned is welcome to join the list. You can do so by visiting : http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-i18n or http://fink.sourceforge.net/lists/fink-i18n.php whichever you prefer. Once more. This is all starting out, just about now and thus we are looking for enthusiasts willing to help out. Please join the list and we'll create a system we all can be happy with, together. Web-site developers and Designers are just as welcome as translators. -d PS: This is a CROSS POST please DO NOT reply to all lists, but only one. Thank you. |
