Subject: KDE 3.2.1 in Fink Unstable Newsgroups: gmane.os.apple.fink.announce Date: 2004-03-09 18:18:56 GMT (5 years, 16 weeks, 4 days, 14 hours and 27 minutes ago) --------------------------------------------------------------------- KDE 3.2.1 for Fink Released --------------------------------------------------------------------- KDE 3.2.1 is now available in the unstable 10.2-gcc3.3 (Jaguar) and 10.3 (Panther) tree. This release contains mostly bugfixes over the 3.2.0 release. For a general idea of what's changed, see the official announcement at: http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-3.2.1.php The following is a list of changes related specifically to the Fink release of KDE: - some fixes to the build system to be sure the correct libltdl is used in arts, kdelibs, and koffice (this should fix the speed issues people have been seeing) - numerous upgrade fixes -- this release should in theory (hah) upgrade correctly over 3.1.x and 3.2.0. Unlike the previous (3.2.0) release, this release seems to be reasonably stable at first glance, and is a candidate for getting moved to stable. Users of the unstable tree are encouraged to try it out and report problems. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Availability --------------------------------------------------------------------- KDE 3.2.1 is available for 10.3 and 10.2-gcc3.3 immediately. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation --------------------------------------------------------------------- To install these packages you will need to update your package listings, by doing: fink selfupdate (You must have unstable enabled, and be configured to pull packages through CVS or RSync, not just updating at "point release".) For more information on enabling unstable, see: http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/users-guide/conf.php#optional Once you have a fresh package listing, you can update by running "fink update-all" if you have an existing KDE installation. If you did not previously have KDE installed, you can run "fink install bundle-kde-ssl" (or "fink install bundle-kde" if US export laws prevent you using strong crypto). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Problems? Questions? --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have questions or problems, please try the Fink mailing lists: Fink Beginners: http://fink.sourceforge.net/lists/fink-beginners.php Fink Users: http://fink.sourceforge.net/lists/fink-users.php Or, you can contact the maintainer (me). ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
