For some reason the version number on the new SMIME plugin did not get 
updated to v3.1.1 and remains at v3.1.0, even though it is different. 
Unfortunately our installer is set to only replace items if the version 
number is newer than any existing item on disk, so the current v3.1.1 
crypto installer will not update the SMIME plugin - and you do need the new 
SMIME plugin in order for the new registration scheme to 'stick'. I have 
just changed the crypto installer so that it now always overwrites the 
existing items and uploaded it to our server, and hopefully that will 
prevent this problem from happening to others. For anyone that still has 
this problem: download the crypto installer again and re-run it.
