Subject: Re: WiFi MAC Newsgroups: gmane.linux.drivers.madwifi.user Date: 2008-09-05 00:41:31 GMT (18 weeks, 8 hours and 8 minutes ago) Hi Mike, I am sending out approx. 2Mbps video stream When I set the multicast rate to 5500 (5.5Mbps) then I get the best result on my linux based subscriber. However when I set higher rates, the quality gets worst. Is there any reason for this? The second thing I observed was that, this increase multicast rate works only if my subscriber is using a madwifi driver. I conclude this because I tried to use another atheros card on a windows machine with windows driver to subscribe to the multicast stream but the quality was bad. As a matter of fact it even messed up the quality on my other linux based subscriber that was running on madwifi driver. Are these expected results? Or I am messing up somewhere. Kindly comment. rgds, shariq --- On Fri, 8/29/08, Michael Renzmann <mrenzmann <at> madwifi.org> wrote: > From: Michael Renzmann <mrenzmann <at> madwifi.org> > Subject: Re: [Madwifi-users] WiFi MAC > To: shariqkhan1 <at> yahoo.com > Cc: madwifi-users <at> lists.sourceforge.net > Date: Friday, August 29, 2008, 12:26 AM > Hi. > > shariq haseeb wrote: > > AP. after which i used the command "iwpriv ath0 > mcast_rate 15000". > > I didn't check the source, but "15000" is no > valid rate.
