I then changed the mode of the wireless card to AP. after which i used the command "iwpriv ath0 mcast_rate 15000". I used the command "iwpriv ath0 get_mcast_rate" to verify it. Then I set up the following test bed: |Mcast Sender| ------ |Access Point| ------- [Mcast Receiver] Then i sent out a 1.5Mbps multicast stream but there we loads of jitters (around 1Mbps speed observed) observed on the receiver meaning that the multicast rate didn't change. Then i changed the multicast rate on the receiver aswell and it didnt do any effect. Am I doing anything wrong? shariq --- On Wed, 8/27/08, Michael Renzmann <mrenzmann <at> madwifi.org> wrote: > From: Michael Renzmann <mrenzmann <at> madwifi.org> > Subject: Re: [Madwifi-users] WiFi MAC > To: shariqkhan1 <at> yahoo.com > Cc: madwifi-users <at> lists.sourceforge.net > Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 1:55 AM > Hi. > > shariq haseeb wrote: > > Buy the way what I am trying to change is that base > data rates (Basic > > hardware data rate) or the management traffic data > rates. > > "iwpriv ... mcast_rate ..." might help you with > that. > > Bye, Mike ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ |
