Subject: Hide ESSID Newsgroups: gmane.linux.drivers.madwifi.user Date: 2008-08-18 12:21:48 GMT (20 weeks, 3 days, 21 hours and 7 minutes ago)
Hi All,
I wanted to know more abt the Hide essid command.
As i understand, iwpriv ath0 hide_ssid 1 ---- Will hide the AP's Essid.
But i noticed that in case a connection is establish between an AP and Client with hide essid not enabled at AP end, and then u enable Hide Essid, the connection established between the AP and the existing client continues.
I wanted to know if this is the feature of Hide ssid when essid is enabled ? or is it that that connection between the existing AP and user should break and only when u enter the ESSID again at the client end, will the connection establish again.
Please let me know.
Warm regards
Queenie
