#2104: AR5007 not working on Compaq C700 + Ubuntu 8.0.4 - did everything right

 Hi, I followed the Ticket#1192 +UserDocs instructions but to no avail.
 There is no wifi network picked up at all. When I try to list the
 neighbour's secure network, which I know is there, I get this:

 chris <at> chris-laptop:~$ sudo wlanconfig ath0 list scan

 ioctl[unknown???]: No such device

 wlanconfig: unable to get scan results
 -------------------------------------------------------------
 I am a newbie to linux, so I am not sure what this is telling me... I am
 guessing, this means that it cannot find the card. Many thanks for your
