Thanks for all your work. I run a HP dv9000 on 64bit ubuntu Hardy and
everything now works great! My card is a Atheros 5007eg. Here are the
steps I took which ended in a big smile.

 1. wget http: / /snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6/madwifi-
 hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801.tar.gz[[BR]]
 2. tar -zxvf madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801.tar.gz[[BR]]
 3. cd madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801[[BR]]
 4. sudo make[[BR]]
 5. sudo make install[[BR]]
 6. System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers -> Uncheck both hal and
 Atheros support[[BR]]
 7. sudo vi /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist -> blacklist ndiswrapper (This is
because I was using ndis, but it was a gimpy solution)[[BR]]
 8. Reboot =(, so windows-y... ick[[BR]]
 9. sudo modprobe ath_pci[[BR]]
 10. Surf surf surf[[BR]]

 Hope this helps someone.
