Thanks for Mr. Mentor's concern of my question. Followed his advice I have download 802.11-2007.pdf and I have found the "from the DS" and "exit from the DS" definition in the manual. But my question is still not resolved. I just want to know which code send the second arp request packet("Exit from the Distribution System"). Is it sent by the madwifi0.9.4 open source code,or is sent by the hardware auto,or is sent by the AP? Why just arp request packt is sent two times?
I am using madwifi on atheros 2317 platform as an AP, stas can be authenticated and associated successfully by the Ap, but can't form an full BSS because stas can't ping each other successfully. I have spend much time capture packtes and compare with madwifi0.9.4 runs on Federa host. I don't find the BSS based on my atheros 2317 send arp request packt two times, the second arp request packet("Exit from the Distribution System") is not found. So I think shoud make it clear to me.
Would you please give me more hints about this problem. Thanks again.
