Sadly, it didn't work for me (T43p). The patches for 2.6.15 and 2.6.16 all
worked fine but with 2.6.17.1 and your patch, my laptop freezes when shaken. 
No kernel panic, but keyboard and mouse are dead. Processes are still running
(e.g. the CPU load monitor applet ist still updated).
