Gmane

Subject: Updated disk-protect patch for linux kernel version 2.6.23.8
Newsgroups: gmane.linux.drivers.hdaps.devel
Date: Sunday 18th November 2007 12:34:25 UTC (over 11 years ago)
In this patch I tried to fix a race condition in the scsi suspend code.
The problem occurs if hdapsd parks the disk right before task freeze
completes causing suspend to fail. Although this race condition doesn't
actually seem to be harmful, it can be rather annoying and is bound to
cause some headaches for users wondering about seemingly random suspend
failures. Only people using the new libata interface (/dev/sda) are
affected since the suspend sequence is handled differently in the old
ide code (/dev/hda).
