Starting from 2.6.24, mfgpt feature is included and complied into kernel when you select GEODE_LX processor option. This month, I have been working on the lastest linux kernel for voyage. However, the kernel does not boot on ALIX and require some combinations on tinyBIOS. I finished the test of various tinyBIOS on alix3a with different kernel and here is my result:
2.6.20 (as in 0.4.1) 2.6.20 (no WORKAROUND) 2.6.24rc3 (stock)
0.90 hang OK OK
0.92 hang OK hang
0.94 OK hang hang
0.98j hang OK hang
Since I had alix3a and alix1a (the early version) to test, you mileage may vary. "No WORKAROUND" means a 2.6.20 was patched to remove the WORKAROUND code in the mfgpt patch that reset the timers.
At this moment, 2.6.23 voyage in experimental repository has backported the mfgpt code as in 2.6.24rc3. It just a slightly head-up, that you may need a right version of tinyBIOS to make latest linux kernel work on ALIX.
