Subject: Bug#312269: ITP: emile -- Early Mac Image LoadEr, a bootloader for m68k macs Newsgroups: gmane.linux.debian.devel.wnpp Date: 2005-06-06 21:50:46 GMT (4 years, 35 weeks, 3 days, 3 hours and 57 minutes ago) Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Wouter Verhelst <wouter <at> debian.org> * Package name : emile Version : 0.9, probably (not released yet, still CVS version at this point) Upstream Author : Laurent Vivier <LaurentVivier <at> wanadoo.fr> * URL : http://emile.sf.net/ * License : GPL Description : Early Mac Image LoadEr, a bootloader for m68k macs EMILE is a loader for booting Linux on m68k Macintosh computers. In contrast to the Penguin booter, EMILE does not require a working MacOS installation; it thus allows on to boot GNU/Linux directly, rather than having to boot MacOS first before being able to load the Penguin booter and GNU/Linux. Although fully functional, EMILE is not (yet) without its share of problems at this point in time, though; people less experienced with running GNU/Linux are probaly still safer off using the Penguin booter. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.11 Locale: LANG=nl_BE.UTF-8 <at> euro, LC_CTYPE=nl_BE.UTF-8 <at> euro (charmap=UTF-8) |
