I've read several discussions here about dVCS in the not-so-distant
past, for several values of "distant". I don't think technical
conclusions can be drawn from them. No one has offered hard data or
done an unbiased comparison. The only one to try, that I remember, is
Eric, and he went missing just after bringing up the issue (to be
fair: he has explained why).

So, if we're going to use Bazaar for political reasons, so be it. But
statements of opinion like this one from Stefan (nothing special about
it, it's just the one I had closer at hand)

"Of the remaining 4 I think they'd all fit the bill just fine, each
with its own strengths and weaknesses. So the choice among those 4 is
mostly arbitrary."

are hardly compelling.

What I'm trying to say is: I won't discuss which dVCS we choose
(unless it makes Windows development a PITA). But I agree with Jeremy
Maitin-Shepard that the cause of free software is strengthened by us
selecting among the free alternatives the one that best serves our
technical, not political, needs.
