You may be interested to know that we're trying to get Creative Commons licensing on the agenda for the Google Summer of Code. Both the Plone Foundation and the Creative Commons organization have been selected by Google to participate in the SoC. http://code.google.com/ soc/ This means that if we can find a student who wants to work on this, Google will fund 3 months of development effort. Other things that we'd like to do as part of the SoC: tagging, ratings, syndication, blogging. See Jonah's PLIPs (Plone improvement proposals) on these things: Creative Commons licensing: http://plone.org/products/plone/roadmap/136 Tagging: http://plone.org/products/plone/roadmap/140 > The basic idea is that it will be a place independent video > producers from South East Asia, Australia and the Pacific can > publish their content about social and environmental issues and > build a communications/organisational infrastructure to collaborate > on projects. You may also be interested to know that the focus of the Big Apple sprint in July is around social software. http://plone.org/events/sprints/bigapple > If you have a look at some of the videos <http:// > www.engagemedia.org/seditious-intent> you'll notice torrents are > all included there and working. He is building on the work that Guenter did on PlonePlayer at the Snow Sprint. https://svn.plone.org/svn/collective/PlonePlayer/ > So have a look around. We're interested in your feedback. I'd also be interested to work with you more closely on developing ATVideo. Wolfgang Reutz is doing a lot of modifications to ATVideo (torrent support, etc.) on the media.coop project, so perhaps we could all join forces to work on this together. Nate |
