Project News: ============= It's been another huge week for Dojo, and this week promises more of the same. The project blog has more atomic updates (http://dojotoolkit.org/blog), but breifly: - we're pushing for a 0.1 release this week. Paul is managing the process and will have more updates on the topic soon. Thanks to David and Paul for continuing to push us forward. - the hardware upgrade didn't happen, and it won't be possible. Big thanks to CommerceNet for their patience and support. - project services will be migrated to a new server one-by-one, but that is likely still some weeks off. - Jot w/ Dojo is available! If you request a new JotSpot, you'll find the interface improved with lots of useful flourishes which are built with Dojo. Old webspaces are being upgraded to the new release, so the Dojo wiki should have the same soon. - Renkoo went alpha! Our good friends at Renkoo have launched their new service. The Renkoo UI is built with Dojo and looks fantastic. Congrats to Adam, Dylan, Joyce, Adam and the rest of the kooks! - a huge thank you to Jot for their support not only in hardware, but also for funding much of the development that is making Dojo such a compelling platform. This week's biggest code landings (DnD and RichText) would not have happened w/o their generous and persistent support. New: ==== - RichText (aka: WYSIWYG) landed! (Paul, David) - new DnD implementation landed! (Alex, Paul, others). - new article discussing the event system released (Alex, proofing and suggestions by many others) - dojo.lang.setTimeout() added to make delayed execution less painful (Paul) - dojo.text.Builder ported from f(m) (Tom) - comment format for inline docs proposed (Austin Schutz) - Dojo repo getting-started guide written (Scott Miles) Improved: ========= - tabs widget doesn't leave ghost versions of nodes in document (David) - dojo.webui.widgets.* moved to dojo.widget.* (Paul) - type negotiation added to DnD (Alex) - "double slash" bug fixed for built-in resource requests (Tim Mansfield) - bug #48 (a 0.1 blocker) fixed (Alex) This Week: ========== - Weekly IRC meeting at 2PM PST, Wed. in #dojo on irc.freenode.net. Project developers and users also hang out in the channel the rest of the time, but this is our only scheduled project meeting.
