Shouldn't I find the special methods '__iadd__' et al, when
asking for the attributes of 'int'?

>>> i=1
>>> i+=1
>>> dir(i)
['__abs__', '__add__', '__and__', '__class__', '__cmp__', '__coerce__', '__delattr__', '__div__',
'__divmod__', '__doc__', '__float__', '__floordiv__', '__getattribute__', '__hash__',
'__hex__', '__init__', '__int__', '__invert__', '__long__', '__lshift__', '__mod__', '__mul__',
'__neg__', '__new__', '__nonzero__', '__oct__', '__or__', '__pos__', '__pow__', '__radd__',
'__rand__', '__rdiv__', '__rdivmod__', '__reduce__', '__repr__', '__rfloordiv__',
'__rlshift__', '__rmod__', '__rmul__', '__ror__', '__rpow__', '__rrshift__', '__rshift__',
'__rsub__', '__rtruediv__', '__rxor__', '__setattr__', '__str__', '__sub__', '__truediv__', '__xor__']
>>> dir(int)
['__abs__', '__add__', '__and__', '__class__', '__cmp__', '__coerce__', '__delattr__', '__div__',
'__divmod__', '__doc__', '__float__', '__floordiv__', '__getattribute__', '__hash__',
'__hex__', '__init__', '__int__', '__invert__', '__long__', '__lshift__', '__mod__', '__mul__',
'__neg__', '__new__', '__nonzero__', '__oct__', '__or__', '__pos__', '__pow__', '__radd__',
'__rand__', '__rdiv__', '__rdivmod__', '__reduce__', '__repr__', '__rfloordiv__',
'__rlshift__', '__rmod__', '__rmul__', '__ror__', '__rpow__', '__rrshift__', '__rshift__',
'__rsub__', '__rtruediv__', '__rxor__', '__setattr__', '__str__', '__sub__', '__truediv__', '__xor__']
>>>

I couldn't find them either in ther operator-module:

>>> import operator
>>> dir(operator)
['__abs__', '__add__', '__and__', '__concat__', '__contains__', '__delitem__', '__delslice__',
'__div__', '__doc__', '__eq__', '__file__', '__floordiv__', '__ge__', '__getitem__',
'__getslice__', '__gt__', '__inv__', '__invert__', '__le__', '__lshift__', '__lt__', '__mod__',
'__mul__', '__name__', '__ne__', '__neg__', '__not__', '__or__', '__pos__', '__repeat__',
'__rshift__', '__setitem__', '__setslice__', '__sub__', '__truediv__', '__xor__', 'abs', 'add',
'and_', 'concat', 'contains', 'countOf', 'delitem', 'delslice', 'div', 'eq', 'floordiv', 'ge',
'getitem', 'getslice', 'gt', 'indexOf', 'inv', 'invert', 'isCallable', 'isMappingType',
'isNumberType', 'isSequenceType', 'le', 'lshift', 'lt', 'mod', 'mul', 'ne', 'neg', 'not_', 'or_',
'pos', 'repeat', 'rshift', 'sequenceIncludes', 'setitem', 'setslice', 'sub', 'truediv', 'truth', 'xor']

Why?

Cheers,
Ralf
