Brainstorming ( not high priority ) :

Hi guys,

i am copying avih and DexT from the XCD team on this email.

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24288

In this mega thread there was some preliminary description of how a
menuing system for XCDs could work, mainly by raistlinK ( BTW, he doesnt
like to use matroska he said in another thread, even if its ready. Seems
he is a real OGM addict ). The idea was to use the same menue system as
the microDVD tools, have a look at his brief description ( not very
detailled ) here :

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24288&perpage=20&highlight=xcd%20menue&pagenumber=6

If i understand this correctly, than the microDVD code is closed source
( avih didnt like this too much i guess ;) ) and supporting the DVD
menue playback system of M$ DirectShow ? Anybody to confirm that ?

@myFUN : IIRC it was you mentioning that there is the possibility to
support the matroska menu system via DirectShow, so that most players,
even WMP 7/8/9 could use it ?

What do you guys think about the acceptance of our menu system if we
took the DShow stucture as a basis ? Would Linux users refuse to support
it ( well, they support DVD menues also, and its nearly the same ) ? Is
the system powerful enough ? Could it be implemented into matroska
without major hassle ?

Thanks for any feedback

Christian
