The original files for integration to MIC don't have carriage returns (hex
0d).
I already asked the MIC maintainer to fix this problem, but you could
manually remove them from
/usr/share/pdk/platforms/menlow-lpia-ubuntu-hardy-jax10-snapshot1/initramfs/initramfs.conf
file.
Thank you,
Alex
PS: The list of known issues for Moblin 1.0 Image created for Compal Jax10
platform (menlow-lpia-ubuntu-hardy-jax10-snapshot1):
1. Compal Touch Screen doesn't work with evtouch (Open Source) driver. It
requires idctouch (Closed Source) driver. We are working to get a license.
2. Network doesn't work. Marvell provided us the link to Wi-Fi SD8686: http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?driverId=203
I haven't tested it (no Jax10) and it is with click on license, so we
cannot distribute it on Moblin.
3. The games, installed with the image, are very slow to be useful. Intel
proprietary for XVideo and 3D accelerations are not available on Moblin.
These will be available for Intel Partners with click on license.
4. Brightness adjustment doesn't work from Moblin-applet. The next command
allows adjust the brightness from the terminal:
echo > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
from 0 to 7.
It is possible that this problem could be easy to fix.
Compal proprietary hardware and enabling software from 5 to 8:
5. Cameras (Jax10 has two) don't appear in Cheese. Module uvcvideo is
loaded, but doesn't work.
6. No support for 3G radio. No support for GPS radio.
7. The sound continues from Jax10's internal speaker after inserting a
headphone plug to Jax10.
8. Volume buttons on Jax10 don't adjust the volume.

Subject: [Moblin Dev] Compal JAX10 MIC images don't work?
Hi,
I tried to create an image for a Compal JAX10 MID using MIC but when I
install the image on the device I just get initramfs prompt.
Fsets used comapl-jax10-config, core, crb stack/proprietary, dev-tools,
gnome mobile, ubuntu kernel, ubuntu mobile.
Do we plan any fixes for this?
Thanks
Costas
