(sorry for cross postings) deegree day 2008 - Call for Papers (deutsche Fassung am Ende der Mail - German version below) The deegree project is known as the most extensive implementation of OGC/ISO geospatial standards in the field of Free Software. To further extend the community driven development, the third deegree day will be held on June 17th 2008 in Bonn. The conference will be open to developers, users and other interested people. The deegree day will provide a platform for exchange and discussion on the deegree project: Developers will present both current and upcoming features while users will show the latest project solutions. You will have the opportunity to discuss pressing open issues in technology, communication, documentation and project organization. We invite you to take part in the conference either with a presentation or a tutorial. Either should be of general interest to the participants of the deegree day and address aspects of the deegree project. Presentations are limited to 20 minutes. Tutorials may take 30 or 45 minutes and should provide technical solutions in a workshop atmosphere, enabling the participants to adopt the contents to their own needs. Please send an abstract of your article/tutorial in English or German language to deegreedaypapers <at> deegree.org Your short description should not exceed 1000 words and should be handed in by March 15th 2008. The proposals will be evaluated by the programme committee. Accepted papers will be published on-line. Zum Ausbau des community-orientierten Entwicklungsprozesses findet am 17. Juni 2008 der dritte deegree day als Treffen von Entwicklern, Anwendern und Interessierten in Bonn statt. Der deegree day bietet eine Plattform zum Erfahrungsaustausch und zur Diskussion. Entwickler werden aktuelle und zukünftige Features von deegree vorstellen. Anwender tragen aktuelle Projektergebnisse vor. Es besteht die Gelegenheit, wichtige offene Fragen zur deegree-Technologie und -Dokumentation zu diskutieren und sich über die Projektorganisation der deegree-Entwicklung zu informieren. Call for Papers Wir laden Sie ein, einen Vortrag oder ein Tutorial auf dem deegree day zu halten. Vorträge und Tutorials sollten von allgemeinem Interesse für die Teilnehmer des deegree day sein und sich mit Aspekten des deegree-Projekts befassen. Die Dauer der Vorträge ist auf 20 Minuten beschränkt. Tutorials können 30 oder 45 Minuten dauern. Sie unterscheiden sich von Vorträgen darin, dass fachliche oder technische Lösungen in einer Werkstatt-Atmosphäre so vermittelt werden, dass die Teilnehmer sie verstehen und selbständig anwenden können. Bitte senden Sie eine Kurzfassung Ihres Beitragsvorschlags in englischer oder deutscher Sprache an: deegreedaypapers <at> deegree.org Kurzfassungen sollten 1000 Wörter umfassen und müssen uns spätestens am 15.
