Subject: Release 3.2.0-pre6 and release plan Newsgroups: gmane.comp.apache.mod-survey.general Date: 2004-07-02 16:11:28 GMT (4 years, 8 weeks, 1 day, 7 hours and 51 minutes ago) I have now released the last "pre" snapshot for the 3.2.x branch. It is available for immediate download from Mod_Survey's home page. The next release will be a "release candidate" for a full stable release. I'm viewing this snapshot as rather stable, indeed a lot more stable than the "stable" 3.0.15 release. However, there remains a lot of testing, documentation and internationalization do be done. I am expecting to release the release candidate later this month. The most important changes in the 3.2.0-pre6 release are: * New examples section: The examples have been written from scratch. * Updated layout engine: The layout engine has been reworked so that it is mainly conducted through external stylesheets. The default layout is now "cloud", which is defined in webroot/system/cloud.css. All tags now are heavilly marked up with "div" tags so that most things can be controlled via stylesheets. See examples section for view of different themes. * Layout in admin module reworked to look like the one in data. * Updated core exports: Added "R" export, updated SPSS export (among highlights is ability to split multichoice into different variables), updated Delimited Fields (with better support for MiniTab and Access) * Added aggregate exports: Added Descriptive export which presents descriptive statistics of a variable, and FrequecyTables which presents frequencies of a variable. * MAILCOPY finished: All aspects of mailing respondent data now implemented. * SECURITY finished: All aspects of security settings now implemented. Highligts include IP-based access control, unique answers and plain password-protecting different aspects of a survey. * IMPORT finished (more or less): Fields can be updated at submit. Layout now follows the same rules as other tags. As we approach a stable release, bug reports grow more important. So please test this and complain about everything that doesn't work. |
